Facebook mobile app can regularly send the owners of devices running Android requests for root permissions. About it writes RIA Novosti with reference to the users of the social network who shared an unpleasant discovery on their pages in Twitter.
“Why is the Facebook app requesting access as root? asks the user with the nickname @aman_sikka. — What the hell is going on with this company?”. His dissatisfaction was supported by several dozen people expressed bewilderment concerning actions of the mobile client.
As noted by users, that is a problem, the app was rejected, can send a request to get root permissions again. The first complaints of inappropriate requests from Facebook was recorded on 9 may and, judging by the Twitter feed continue to appear until now.
According to official representatives of Facebook, such requests were caused by a bug in the security system mobile app. Of course, stressed in the press-service, social networks do not require access to root privileges on devices of their customers, and soon all will be fixed.
