Recently Apple has released an update to its service for music recognition Shazam. The main innovation released update was the complete lack of advertising. The company got rid of ads not only in app version for iOS but also for Android. As for the paid Shazam Encore, which is always different from the free counterpart only in the presence of advertising, most likely it is waiting for an unenviable fate and removal from the corporate App store.
About plans for Apple to clear the Shazam banner ads became known in September, and only now they have been implemented. Brand app after the update now looks like this:
On further ways to monetize Shazam is not known, but one can assume that the service is a music recognition will receive even greater integration with the Apple Music, and thus becoming a good tool in terms of future competition with other streaming platforms.
The eponymous service for music recognition since its launch, has held leading positions in App store. The total number of downloads Shazam has already exceeded the figure of 1 billion. Daily users by using this service recognizes more than 20 million songs, and every day this number is only getting bigger.
Recall that in December last year, Apple completed the acquisition of the popular service for music recognition. The acquisition cost of Shazam has not been disclosed, however many experts believe that an American Corporation could pay for service up to 400 million dollars.
