Apple is preparing to abandon the use of Lightning connectors in future iPhone and iPad generations in favor of universal USB-C. This follows from the report by DigiTimes. Analysts, citing sources in the supply chain, argue that the transition to the new standard will take place no earlier than 2019.
USB-C in iPhone
Equipping the new iPhone and iPad connector USB-C will not only offset the gap between the devices of the brand, which was caused by the company’s decision to translate the Mac to the new standard, forgetting about the compatibility with smartphones and tablets, but largely popularitywith connector on the market.
