Apple has teamed up with carmaker Volkswagen to work together to equip the minibus T6 Transporter system auto-pilot. About it reports The New York Post, citing sources familiar with the situation. In the future Apple plans to use these vehicles to transport employees to and from work.
The partnership with Volkswagen will allow Apple to convert cars as required in the new project, without violating the rules of operation and without creating a danger to others. It is reported that Apple hopes to rework the dashboard of the van, replace the seats, to equip them with a system of sensors and motor.
According to Apple employees engaged in work on the project of the UAV, in Cupertino aim to design the most comfortable car with a luxurious interior, reminiscent of a living room, the passengers would look at each other, not on the road. In other words, Apple wants to build the iPhone from the world of cars.
Cooperation agreement signed between Apple and Volkswagen, only applies to vans, which will not appear in commercial production. However, if the project proves successful, it is possible that in the future we will see a “folk” result of a collaboration between two giants of the industry.
