Each of us at least once in their life have experienced the phenomenon when lines of haunting melodies suddenly come to mind and for a long time, preventing you from focusing when performing work. Notes, tempo, and words over and over again in my head, even if the song is not our favorite. Most often this music is found in advertising or the music in the style of “pop”, but, of course, there are exceptions to the rule. As a result of experiments it became clear that a musical composition is capable of activating the amygdala, hippocampus and auditory cortex that helps us to process emotions, sounds, learn, and make memories. At the same time, the nucleus accumbens, which previously was associated with pleasure and getting pleasure from music, was activated only when listeners were faced with the manifestations of insecurity in songs or with unfamiliar chords. An unusual experiment has led scientists to the conclusion that we like the songs we expected to hear a certain chord, but suddenly we meet the other than expected.
