Russian cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev and Sergei Prokopiev finished second in this year’s spacewalk aboard the International space station. Working on Board the ISS began on 15 August at 19:17 Moscow time. It was originally planned that the estimated duration of the work in the open space will be 6 hours and the astronauts return to the ISS at approximately 01:15 on the night of 16 August, however, the installation of the equipment for the experiment ICARUS (International Cooperation for Animal Research Using Space) was delayed almost an hour. In addition, there was produced a manual startup of the four Russian nanosatellites. In the end, in space the astronauts spent nearly 8 hours.
During the execution of the tasks Oleg Artemyev and Sergey Prokopiev did not forget to take pictures of the Earth and the ISS. We give here only a few, in our opinion, the best shots. With the rest you can see in the album Artemieva in a social network “Vkontakte”. In addition, on Artemyev, you can subscribe to “Twitter”. Cosmonaut actively engaged in your page and often shares new pictures from space.
