The company Google is preparing a useful update to the service Docs, which will allow you to edit documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in native format.

I think many users have encountered the need to edit Microsoft documents that they sent in the mail. And if their computer does not have Microsoft Office, you had to convert the file to Google Docs format to edit it. Now Google has announced the addition of support for Microsoft formats, so you will be able to edit them in Docs, Sheets and Slides.

Full list of supported formats is as follows:

  • Word .doc .docx, .dot
  • Excel: .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlt
  • PowerPoint: .ppt, .pptx .pps .pot

Google said that the new feature will appear to users in the coming weeks.
