Google in its blog has officially announced the launch of a new design of the web version of Gmail.
The appearance of Gmail is now consistent with the canons of Material Design: updated icons, rounded buttons, leaving the left-hand menu. Added many new features, most of which are already well known on Google Inbox and mobile version of Gmail.
For example, you can now view attachments from e-mail without opening the message itself. With the button “Snooze” to snooze emails to a later date, and the right-hand panel display shortcuts to the most used applications.
Now Gmail will remind you that it is necessary to answer a particular message, and the Smart Reply will accelerate the process of response.
In the mobile version of Gmail, you can now enable notifications only for the important emails. In addition, Gmail will soon begin to offer the option to unsubscribe from newsletters that you no longer interesting.
Do not forget to Google about the security of your mailbox. Gmail will warn you about potentially dangerous emails that come to you.
Also, Gmail will display a privacy mode. It will allow you to send emails that cannot be forwarded to another recipient, copy, download or print. Moreover, you can set the “duration” of the letter, after which it will automatically be destroyed.
The new design, Gmail will begin appearing to users today. To check if it’s available to you, check your mail, click the gear icon in the upper right corner and check the item “Try the new Gmail”. If a new design you don’t like it, you can likewise go back to the old version.
