Voice assistant “Google now” built into the smart column Google Home learned to speak Russian, made sure the Twitter user with the nickname geek_yaroslav. In confirmation of his words, he published a short video with a demonstration of the verbal possibilities of the desktop version of “Google Assistant”, which for some time refused to talk to the great and mighty because of the restrictions placed on it by the manufacturer.
Judging by the video, “Google Assistant” that comes preinstalled on the Google Home able to understand most requests and, most importantly, give them the right answers. However, there are still commands that the voice assistant refuses to comply with imposed constraints. “Google” — for and against
Despite extensive — with rare exceptions — the ability to “Google Assistant” in the Google Home, pronunciation, voice assistant still leaves much to be desired. Assistant often makes mistakes in accents, pronunciation of proper names and in General suffers from the obvious robotic accent. Siri from Apple, for comparison, although capable of performing significantly less teams in the Russian language, what “Google” says is much cleaner.
But, whatever it was, none of the versions Home Google at the moment not sold in Russia. For some unknown reason the search giant sells branded speakers only in a limited number of countries and, obviously, not counting on high sales, limits their functionality on a geographic basis. Perhaps in the foreseeable future the situation will be fixed, but so far the only way to get Google Home is to buy it abroad.
