GoPro notes that the new product uses the glass in two times more durable than Hero 7 Black so you hardly have to change it. In Black Hero 8 also has a new battery. It has the same capacity as before, but it’s more powerful.
As for the software part, GoPro has introduced an improved digital stabilization of HyperSmooth 2.0. Available to the user several modes of stabilization, in addition, HyperSmooth can now be used in all shooting modes. Updated function of Time Warp, it now automatically adapts to your movement speed, based on the data of the camera. There is a new Live Burst, which is similar to Live Photos from Apple. The camera takes pictures during the 1.5 seconds before and after you press the shutter button to produce “live photos”.
Hero 8 Black is capable of recording 4K video at 60 fps and 100 Mbps bitrate (for the first time). Shooting super slow-motion is done in Full HD at 240 fps. Also available in Full HD resolution for streaming. GoPro have added some presets to make it easier and faster to switch between different shooting modes. By default there are 4 available presets, but you can choose to add (up to 10) and edit.
Using Hero Black 8 to 12 MP still photos. Moreover, users are now able to shoot RAW photos modes time-lapse and burst.
