Find My iPhone is a great way to protect your iPhone if it is lost or stolen. However, the SIM card remains under threat. Any person can use the funds on your SIM card, making calls, sending messages and using mobile Internet.
Of course, you can go to the operator and block the number, but it is not always possible to do it in a timely manner, and means by that time it may be expended. To avoid this, you should set a PIN code on your iPhone.
How to do it?
- Go to Settings — Phone — SIM-PIN.
- Create a new PIN, it can include from 4 to 8 digits.
- Click “Done”.
- If you have previously set a PIN, you must first enter the current and then new.
That it got us in the end?
Now each time you restart your iPhone you will be prompted for a PIN code, in addition to the usual password. The same thing will happen if you insert our SIM card into another phone.
The most important thing is not to forget your PIN, because after several unsuccessful attempts to enter the SIM card will be locked and to unlock you will need the PUK code.
You cannot change the PUK, and its input is given ten attempts. If not preserved the PUK code, in this case, will only replace a SIM which can be made in the cabin of the operator. Offer this service for free, and the balance, number, rate, and connected services will be available on the new card.
However, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. The code will only have to enter when you restart, but, instead, we get full security for the safety of their funds in case of loss or theft of the iPhone.
