One of the ways to monetize Facebook in the future may be a partial transition to a subscription model of distribution. This writes Engadget, citing Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of the company. According to her, Facebook is considering new ways of generating income, not least among which is the provision of access by subscription.
“Of course, we thought about how to translate social network on a subscription model of distribution, among other methods of monetization and will continue to look in this [model]”, — quotes the words of Engadget Sandberg. Earlier, speaking at the Congress, a similar statement was made by mark Zuckerberg and emphasized that Facebook may introduce a subscription, but will not refuse the opportunity of free access.
As discovered by TechCrunch, if Facebook’s transition to a subscription model of distribution and failure by the advertising, each social network user will have to pay monthly for 11-14 dollars. Only in this way, analysts, subscribers will be able to compensate the company the loss of income that bring her advertisers.
