The Apple Watch smart watch is on one side and the rest of the smart watches from the competing brands on another side, this is the summary of the smart watch market sales in the first half of 2020.
According to Counterpoint Research, which is specialized in market research, the Apple smart watch alone – with its various versions – was able to control 51.4% of smart watch revenues during the first half of this year 2020.
This is not surprising because the Apple smart watch has already dominated this market for years, and 2020 was no exception.
Apple's control of the smart watch market revenues increased from 43.2% to 51.4% compared to the same time period last year.
Apple looks very far from its closest competitor, which is GARMIN, which acquired 9.4%, Huawei by 8.3%, while Samsung ranked fourth with 7.2%, followed by other companies with lower rates.
The fifth generation of Apple Watch Series 5 leads smart watch sales, followed by the less expensive Huawei Watch Series 3, Huawei Watch GT2, and Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2.
According to Counterpoint Research, there are two important features that will be present in the watch that will be announced this year, which are the fall detection feature and the blood oxygen measurement feature.
The first feature is already present in the Apple Watch, while the second feature related to the blood oxygen sensor will be present with the next release of the new Apple Watch Series 6 .
