The first Apple TV was presented at the MacWorld event in 2007. It is noteworthy that in the framework of this presentation was shown and the original iPhone. But if the smartphone was able to quickly conquer the market and make a real revolution, in the case of Apple TV you can’t say the same thing – this product was not innovative in its industry. The development is rather evolutionary – Apple continues to release new generation Apple TV and to work on improving tvOS.
Mode “picture-in-picture” is now on Apple TV
A couple of days ago to download became available tvOS 13 beta 2. The first users who installed the Assembly and discovered that the operating system has a new feature — mode “picture in picture”.
With this option the user can position the video in a separate small window, the location and scale of which you can change at its discretion. During playback you can move freely between applications without any restrictions. Video format not important — supported videos HD and 4K.
Support for third party applications
Initially, the feature will be available only in Apple TV. Users will be able to use the option for viewing films and videos purchased through the iTunes store and when subscribing to Apple TV+. Over time, the mode of “picture in picture” will appear in third-party apps — Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and other streaming services.
At the moment the option is not ideal as it is in test mode. Regular users should wait for the public version tvOS 13 in September.
