India wants to switch to electric transport. Scooters with internal combustion engines will be banned?

India can be called a world leader in the use of two-wheeled transport — while in other countries people mostly drive cars, the city in South Asia are crowded with scooters and motorcycles. The authorities are aware that far behind in the segment of the electrification of transport, so for several years trying to persuade manufacturers to move to electric motors. The first attempt was made in 2017, but now the authorities are determined to develop a plan for the electrification of scooters and motorcycles to companies in the entire two weeks.

According to the world Bank, India is home to about 1.3 billion people. Most of them, about 21 million people are the owners of scooters and motorcycles, while cars only 3.3 million drivers. The most popular, oddly enough, is the usual technique with internal combustion engines, but electric scooters and motorcycles people are interested enough in 2018 they were sold only 126 thousand pieces.
