As if we did not have enough prices for the wild card last year and a half, started to go up Intel. Resource Guru3D collected data on current prices in Europe and those who were just in the beginning of the month.
The result can see in the table below.
As you can see, the price increase is quite significant. Especially on Core i3-8100, though it’s unclear why exactly this model. I checked in Ukraine this CPU you can buy now much cheaper than 175 Euro, although prices are higher.
Apparently, in the near future in our market expect the price hike, so if you are going to buy a new Intel CPU, get it now.
As for the reasons for the price increase, it is one — the demand exceeds supply. Due to the inability of Intel to move to 10-nanometer process technology, the company simply is not enough production capacity to release a sufficient number of 14-nanometer CPU. The company even plans to open a new plant, but it’s all a matter of time. Meantime, we expect a deficit of processors, and as a result, rising prices.
By the way, analysts say that against this background, AMD can increase its market share in the CPU from the current 10% to 30%, which seems quite real, even if Core i3-8100 now will ask 170 Euro. For comparison, for about the same money in Europe is sold Ryzen 5 2600.
