Manufacturer of mobile chipsets, MediaTek unveiled at the MWC 2018 new SoC Helio P60.
Novelty is based on a 12-nm FinFET process technology. This has helped reduce energy consumption by 15% compared to 14 nm chipsets. The SoC has eight cores and has a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. Used architecture big.LITTLE (four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A73).
The chipset uses a new GPU Mali-G72 MP3 with a clock frequency of 800 MHz. This gives a 70% performance increase in games compared to the previous generation.
For operations using artificial intelligence meets NeuroPilot AI – special task unit, which handles the information on the device. It performs tasks such as determining the depth of field in the photographs, the improvement of VR and MR and so on. System CorePilot 4.0, in turn, optimizes the power consumption.
Helio P60 supports displays with a resolution of Full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels), up to 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4X-1800, dual camera (20 MP + 16 MP) or single up to 32 MP. Can be used on a flash drive or eMMC 5.1 UFS 2.1. There is support for 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio, navigation GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, as well as technologies Dual 4G VoLTE. In addition, the chipset is able to process HDR images in real time, showing users how it will look in a photo after shooting.
