Taiwanese company MediaTek, specializing in the production of mobile chipsets, has announced the launch of a new line of SoC Helio A.
The name stands for Advanced Helio. Chipsets of this line is designed for smartphones average level, but will support many premium options. For example, they can work with dual cameras and facial recognition software, using artificial intelligence technologies. The new SoC will be 30% faster than its comparably priced competitors in the field of computing and 50% in graphics.
Also presented were the first chipset of the new line – Helio A22. It is made for 12-nanometer technology, has four cores ARM Cortex-A53 and includes a video accelerator PowerVR GE8320.
Helio A22 will be able to work with displays with resolution up to 1600х720 pixels, dual cameras with a maximum sensor resolution of 13 MP and 8 MP, memory type LPDDR3 and LPDDR4, wireless modules Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, 4G LTE Cat-6.
The first smartphone that will get a new chipset Helio A22, became Xiaomi Redmi 6A.
