Qualcomm has expanded the lineup of chipsets of the average level of the new mobile system-on-chip Snapdragon processor 675, which boasts some of the flagship solutions.
The new product is manufactured according to the norms of 11-nm process. It has two powerful cores Kryo 460, clocked at 2 GHz and six similar, but more energy-efficient compute cores with a clock frequency of 1.7 GHz. It is noted that this is the first chipset midrange processor cores Cortex-A76, which are commonly used in the flagship SoC. For work with graphics is responsible for the graphics Adreno processor 612, which supports the OpenGL ES API 3.2, Open CL 2.0, DirectX 12 and Vulkan.
The manufacturer claims that the new chipset delivers a 30% performance increase when running games and 35% increase in web browsing, compared to the Snapdragon 670. Also the novelty has received the support of displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
675 Snapdragon has got built-in image processor Qualcomm 250L ISP that allows the chipset to work with triple cameras. Supported by a five-fold optical zoom, face detection in 3D mode and portrait shooting mode. In addition, the new SoC has engine AI Engine responsible for the artificial intelligence. Qualcomm claims that the new chip will be able to provide much higher (50%) the rate of work-related applications, and it supports hardware decoding video resolutions up to 4K. Supported codecs: H. 265 (HEVC), H. 264 (AVC), VP8 and VP9.
Also worth noting is the availability of high-speed modem X12, which provides data transfer at speeds up to 600 Mbps, and support fast-charging technology Quick Charge 4+.
It is expected that the first smartphones with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 on Board appear on the market in the first quarter of 2019.
