The share of foreign electronics in the Russian civil communications satellites reaches 70 percent, said the Deputy head of Rossvyaz Igor Chursin conference Satellite Russia. According to him, the dependence on foreign components causes difficulties in production of new Russian satellites.
“Now, unfortunately, the situation is that, as a rule, Russian companies that produce satellites, 70 percent depend on the electronic component base of foreign production. This process is complicated and long, but every year 10 percent we produce import substitution of components of the Russian production. But still a high dependence develops in some difficulties,” said Chursin.
The official added that “Information satellite systems” to order “Space communication” developed satellites “Express-80” and “Express-103”.
“Here, in this complex societies, where there is contractors second and third level, and there is too much dependence on foreign electronic components. Here’s quite a lot of problems,” said Chursin.
The satellites of “Express-80” and “Express-103” designed for fixed and mobile communications, digital broadcasting, high-speed Internet access and data transmission on the territory of Russia. Their launch is planned for 2019 on a single rocket “proton”. Also in 2020 plans to launch satellites “Express AMU-3” and “Express AMU-7”, and in 2021 — “Express AMU-4”.
