Is it possible to resurrect extinct animals? The first one who asked this question, most likely, was the ancient Neanderthals, who hunted mammoths with the aim of obtaining valuable in terms of the ice age to the fur and meat. To revive a mammoth he, of course, failed, but after a couple of thousand years wants to do is his distant descendant people. All that he needed for the historical accomplishments is a sample of the soft tissues of the extinct animal. So what kind of animals we can raise, really?
How can we resurrect extinct animals?
If you are a fan of the movie “Jurassic Park”, you probably know that the extinct ancient animals can try to return to life thanks to such modern technologies as cloning. In order to be able to clone one or another animal, scientists need to find at least the smallest part of intact DNA, which is the easiest way to find relatively recently disappeared from the face of the planet animal.
As observations show, most likely to recreate any extinct species have when cloning the creatures, which remains for a long time have been in the permafrost. Among these lucky ones who have died at the right time and right place, can be woolly mammoths, marsupial wolf, sabre-toothed cats and birds such as the MoA and Dodo.

What animals can resurrect in the near future?
As is known, the expected return to planet Earth animals today are mammoths. The last specimen of these creatures lived on Wrangel island about 3.5 thousand years ago. In order to test the viability of the cells, mummified in the permafrost, a group of Japanese and Yakut scientists have learned a few nuclei of the muscle cells of the mammoth, who died about 28 thousand years ago. The resulting nucleus, the scientists transplanted into oocytes of mice in order to observe possible signs of biological activity.
Despite the fact that the process of cell division, the scientists failed, a few cells still showed some biological activity. Well, even this result can be considered a success and a huge step in the resurrection not only of mammoths, and other extinct animals. How do you think would be useful is the idea of the resurrection of extinct animals or not? Let’s try to discuss this issue in our Telegram chat.

So, scientists suggest that the return to life can marsupial wolves, which went extinct quite recently, around 30-ies of XX century. Samples of these unique animals still can be found intact in the museums of Australia.
In addition to the marsupial wolf, is scheduled to return to the life of birds such as MoA. Maybe it’s the name you nothing to says, however, these birds are considered to be the largest of all speciesthat ever lived on the planet. MoA became extinct as a result of the destruction by man about 600 years ago, but in spite of this very sad fact, their feathers and eggs can be found completely preserved.
Another bird that may soon get a chance for resurrection, is Dodo. The Dodo is a close relative of modern pigeons, which lived on the island of Mauritius. Due to the fact that these birds are thousands of years evolved in complete isolation from the outside world, they have absolutely no sense of self, and this took the discoverers of the island of Mauritius, utterly destroying the Dodo as a species.
Well, destroying once a large number of animals, the man began to recover lost and fix their mistakes. Will we be wiser this time? Well, time will tell.
