Sony announced a new CMOS photo module called IMX586. According to representatives of the company, the new product combines the pixel size of 0.8 µm, which is a record result. Due to this, the camera will be able to create a 48-megapixel shots.
For clarity, the company has compared the size of the pixels. The result IMX586 — two times less than other pixels, according to Phone Arena.
The sensor has got built-in support for technologies exposure control functions and signal processing. New smartphones will show a fourfold dynamic range compared to conventional devices and improved sensitivity thanks to the technology Quad Bayer.
The photos will be quality even in poor light conditions. Noise in comparison with existing models will be much less.
