A few years ago, Apple stopped sales of the monitors Thunderbolt Display. For unknown reasons, the company decided to withdraw from the market, providing an alternative only in 2016 and the third party. The official website began selling monitors LG UltraFine 4K and 5K really have popularity among users, they have not earned. It’s possible that that is why the company has decided to re-occupy a promising niche, releasing the long-awaited continuation of the line monitors Thunderbolt Display.
Apple plans to show the new monitor is already at WWDC 2019. Updated Thunderbolt Display will be primarily focused on professionals — therefore, on low price to expect is clearly not worth it.
But, as the screen will not have to doubt the source claims that the first used the new type of lighting — Mini LED, which will provide “excellent image quality”. The diagonal will be 31.6 inches and a display resolution — 6240 × 2880.
Of course, the Thunderbolt Display will support the color gamut of DCI-P3, HDR, and even technology True Tone, which will regulate the temperature of the picture depending on the lighting.
According to insiders, the new monitor will be tightly integrated into the Apple ecosystem. Mac users will have at their disposal a great opportunity for fine-tuning color profiles and calibration of the display.
Most likely, the Thunderbolt Display is shown alongside the updated Mac Pro — at the annual conference for developers WWDC. It is expected that this event, like last year, will be held from 3 to 7 June, in San Jose, California.
