2018 was not a good year for Huawei. The company had initially planned to establish formal partnerships with telecommunications companies of America to launch its smart phones in the U.S. market, but those plans were cancelled at the last minute where legislators warned U.S. telecommunications companies of the potential security threat posed by Huawei because of its origins in China.
However, it seems that the United States is not only trying to reduce its dependence on the technology of Huawei as much as possible, but it is now working actively to encourage its neighbors to do the same. In fact, it turns out recently that Senator Americans Mark Warner and Marco Rubio sent a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau advised the country not to rely on technology fifth generation, a subsidiary of Huawei.
Came part of that letter read as follows : ” while Canada has strong protection when it comes to the security of communications, we have serious concerns that these protections may not be adequate for what you know the United States and other allies about Huawei “. It is interesting to find that the United States is not the only one who think that Huawei could pose a potential threat to national security, the Australian government believes the same thing so that the Prohibition of Huawei and ZTE, from supplying gear 5G of the country.
It remains to be seen whether Canada will take the advice of the United States of America seriously, but given that both countries are close allies to a large extent, we wouldn’t be surprised if it did.
