While Uber came out of some markets in Southeast Asia, and sold its property to prevent its main competitor in the area, Grab, there are expectations now that Uber will occupy the largest areas in the Middle East. According to a new report released today, it appears that Uber is in talks to acquire the company Careem at a price ranging between 2 and 2.5 billion USD.
Citing people familiar with the matter, reported the report site Bloomberg that the company Uber and Careem experience talks for deal acquisition potential. Adds the author of the report that no decision was final yet, which means that these talks will fail in case if no agreement is reached.
Recall that Uber and Careem held preliminary talks in the month of July last to integrate their work in the Middle East in an attempt to solve the problem of competition in the area which proved to be costly for both companies. It seems that the discussions evolved into negotiations for the acquisition of the full company.
