When will the iPhone 12 actually show?

Recently it became known that Apple may hold its next presentation on September 10th . Even the company itself allegedly "let it slip" about this by launching a test broadcast on YouTube with this very date. One thing we know for sure: the event will again be held online. However, if you have already added September 10th to your calendar and are not planning anything for that day, you may be in a hurry. Firstly, the presentation can take place on another day, and this also has its confirmation. Secondly, the new iPhone will most likely not be shown at this event.

It is already obvious that the presentation will be held online again. But when?

Apple typically holds its first Fall presentation right after Labor Day in the United States, a holiday that always falls on the first Monday in September. This was the case last year when the company announced the iPhone 11 (just September 10th), and in 2018, when the iPhone XS debuted on September 12th. However, Apple did not always unveil a new iPhone in September. For example, nine years ago, the iPhone 4s was released on October 4, the day before Apple founder Steve Jobs died.

Labor Day in the United States is celebrated on September 7 this year, and September 10 seems like a good date for the presentation. With one caveat.

When is the next Apple presentation

The last eight September events were held on Tuesday or Wednesday, but never on Thursday. The sample is decent – 8 years after all. On the other hand, 2020 is unusual in every sense. Anyone with a press badge will not be physically invited to the Apple campus anytime soon. And just like the event at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, Apple's fall event is likely to be featured on the tapes.

In other words, Tim Cook and his company can technically give a damn about the conventions and hold the event on Tuesday, September 8, or Wednesday, September 9, rather than wait until Thursday, September 10. What difference does it make when to show a movie if it has already been recorded before?

When will the iPhone 12 be shown

Estimated iPhone lineup this year

We have heard (and not from anyone, but from an Apple representative) that this year the iPhone line will not appear in stores until October or November , primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If so, you might think that Apple is unlikely to host a media event (recorded or otherwise) in mid-September and then force potential buyers to wait four to six weeks to order an iPhone. But wait, hasn't that already happened?

It's funny, but we only need to go back three years to see how Apple played out exactly such a scenario. In 2017, on September 12, Apple held a presentation of the iPhone X. On the same day, the company also announced the iPhone 8/8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple TV 4K. iPhone X first went on sale on October 27th ! And in stores appeared at all on November 3. The iPhone 8 line, by contrast, went on sale on September 22nd.

Or another example. Two years ago, the iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR were announced on September 12. While the iPhone XS lineup went on sale on September 21st, the iPhone XR did n't arrive until October 26th .

Apple Watch.

If Apple doesn't plan to release any new iPhone models before October, Prosser's prediction makes sense. In this scenario, September would be a great time to announce and release the Apple Watch Series 6 and updated iPad tablets. Then you can wait until October for a vibrant virtual press event to announce the four rumored iPhone 12 models, as well as the world's first Mac with Apple Silicon , which the company says will launch this fall.
